Tristana Pirkl

Whole Kids Foundation

Tristana Pirkl leads up the Outdoor Education Initiatives for Whole Kids Foundation-a foundation of Whole Foods Market-where she has been for 7 years. She manages all of the foundation’s initiatives in getting kids outside to connect with where their food comes from, including the $1.2 million Garden Grant program, Garden to Cafeteria program, Bee Grant program and School Garden Support Organization support. She manages a community garden and is involved with her local Austin Slow Food Chapter-she served asa USA Delegate to the 2018 Slow Food Terra Madre. She participates on the community advisory board for Urban Roots-an Austin based farming and leadership development non-profit. Tristana received her degree in Human Biology from Stanford University. When not supporting schools in growing healthy kids, she is either practicing yoga, gardening in her plot at the community garden, trying new restaurants or cooking up a storm at home.
