I am a llifelong resident of Lafitte where my family’s business, Higgins Seafood, has been in business for over 50 years. I am a wife and mother of 3. I graduated from the University of New Orleans in 2002 with a degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Administration. I managed a bed and breakfast, Victoria Inn, in Lafitte for 10 years. I then became a full time mother and focused my time volunteering at the elementary school. I was the president of the parent organization and as named Volunteer of the Year in 2011. I teach catechism and run the program at my church, St. Joachim, for the past 6 years. About 5 years ago, I took on a more active role in my family business. I am in charge of public relations and outside sales. I was elected to our local school board two years ago. I love my community and I work hard to make sure it continues to improve for our future generations.

Higgins Seafood is a small processing company that buys seafood directly off the boat from the local fishermen. Everything is processed by hand, in a traditional fashion. I believe our products are unique and wonderful because we process small quantities at a time using premium quality products that are hand-picked. So our products are fresh and maintain a true flavor when it is delivered it to our customers.
