Roy Kady

Diné Community Advocacy Alliance (DCAA)

If there is a “man for all seasons” among contemporary Diné (Navajo), Roy Kady might be that man. Kady is a well-established sheep herder and a male textile weaver/fiber artist residing in the community of Goats Spring on the outskirts of Teec Nos Pos, Arizona, and a sort of Mecca for sheep herders and Diné (Navajo) weavers. Roy is the co-founder of the Táá Dibéi – Navajo Churro Heritage Lamb Presidium, he also mentors youth within the Navajo Nation about his passion on preserving their lifeways with sheep, farming, foraging the land and fiber arts.
