Reana Kovalcik

National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition

Reana has spent over eight years advocating for advancements in good food and sustainable agriculture. As the Associate Director for Communications and Development at the National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition, Reana works with a team of expert policy and grassroots staff to not only augment the voices of family farmers, but also promote legislation that is sustainable and equitable. In doing so, Reana describes her work as “translation”: she is able to make complex agricultural policy understandable and engaging for the public at large. She also dually serves on the Board of Slow Food DC and on Slow Food USA’s National Policy Committee and Equity, Inclusion, and Justice Working Group. Currently, Reana lives in DC with her partner, two cats, and cares for what she hopes will some day be a flourishing backyard garden.
