Colorado Food & Farm Alliance

Pete Kolbenschlag is representing the Colorado Farm & Food Alliance at Slow Food Nations. His organization works to connect Colorado’s farm to table movement with conservation and climate advocacy. Professionally, he is founder and principal at Mountain West Strategies, a communications and grassroots consultancy that specializes in public lands, energy, and environmental issues. He sits on the board of directors of Colorado LOGIC – the League of Oil and Gas Impacted Coloradans – which works with front-line communities across the state to strengthen their ability to respond to industry proposals and ultimately shift policy and politics around oil and gas in Colorado.

Prior to his current work he spent ten years working as a public lands and wilderness advocate with the Colorado Environmental Coalition and has worked extensively on oil and gas related issues since locating to Colorado in 1998. Pete lives in Paonia on the Western Slope of Colorado, where he’s a strong advocate for the local food culture.
