Designer and Director, Peggy Markel's Culinary Adventures

Peggy Markel, designer and director of Peggy Markel’s Culinary Adventures since 1992, became a member of Slow Food in 1993 and pioneered the first Slow Food Boulder convivium in 1996.

Her brand of culinary adventures champions SLOW values and has always taken people right to the heart of those cultivating, producing and offering their traditions. She believes that bringing people together around the table to eat good food and have meaningful conversations is a political act. “When we merge with other cultures through food, we let the world in and see ourselves as a part of it”.

She has an ever-growing desire to dig deeper into food cultures around the world and in her home state of Colorado. She leads programs to Tuscany, Sicily, Amalfi, Morocco, Spain and India, and lives in Florence, Italy and Boulder, CO.
