Lauren Nelson

Slow Food Youth Network

Lauren Nelson is a cofounder of the Slow Food Youth Network USA. Lauren recently graduated with a M.A. in Gastronomy from the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Pollenzo, Italy, where she worked with Ark of Taste and the Slow Food Foundation for Biodiversity and wrote a thesis on the sugar industry’s impact on Hawaiian food sovereignty. Originally from California’s Bay Area and Austin, Texas, Lauren currently lives in Rome, Italy and works as a consultant for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.
