Kara Shannon

Senior Manager, ASPCA

Kara Shannon is the senior manager of the Farm Animal Welfare program at the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). She holds a J.D. and Certificate in Food and Agriculture Law from Vermont Law School. In her role with the ASPCA, she works to help conscientious consumers find higher welfare food and support farmers raising animals in more humane systems. She is passionate about creating a more sustainable, humane food system that values animals, workers, and communities. Kara currently lives in Vermont and spends as much time outdoors and with cows as she can!
