Isela Aurea Islas de Sanchez, along with other producers of the region, are dedicated to cultivating the maguey and to promoting the importance of rescuing this important plant that is in danger of extinction. She shares the knowledge of maguey syrup at conferences, fairs, and events dedicated to the preservation of food biodiversity. She has participated in educational institutions explaining the cultivation of the maguey as well as the production of its syrup.
