Ian McNeel

Co-founder, Slow Food Barbados

Ian McNeel is an American-born ecologist, environmentalist and impact investor, with the aim of supporting meaningful community connection to our ecosystems.

As the Co-founder of Slow Food Barbados he is inspiring the reconnection of youth, farmers, chefs and consumers to local regenerative food systems.

He is on the advisory board of Plastic Oceans Trust, a not-for-profit formed in response to the alarming rate in which plastics are finding their way into our oceans and ecosystems. Ian also sits on the advisory board and is a founding member of the Barbados Independent Film Festival (BIFF) in which he curates the environmental film selection.

Leveraging his years as a successful international business executive, he is leading the transition of Walker’s Sand Quarry into Walker’s Reserve, from active sand quarry to vibrant regenerative food forest.
