Gigia Kolouch

Education Director - Seed-to-Table Program, Slow Food Denver

Gigia Kolouch is currently the Education Director of the Seed-to-Table Program at Slow Food Denver. This program provides support to 30 local school gardens in the form of cooking classes, teacher training, volunteer coordination, cooking and gardening lesson plans, youth farmers’ market support, garden to cafeteria coordination and school garden policy development. She has been with Slow Food Denver for 16 years and has written the Slow Food USA Good and Clean school garden curriculum.

Her work involves transforming people’s relationship with food and cooking in order to restore its prominent place in everyday life. She has been a cooking instructor for the past 25 years, a gardener for 40 years, and has increased her knowledge with a Masters in Nutritional Anthropology.
