Elizabeth Herendeen

Marketplace Manager, SalmonState

Elizabeth Herendeen is the Marketplace Manager for SalmonState, a new Alaska-based nonprofit working to protect and promote Alaska’s wild salmon fisheries and ensure that Alaska remains the world’s most sustainable source of wild salmon. Prior to SalmonState, Elizabeth was the Marketing Director for the Bristol Bay Regional Seafood Development Association as well as the interim Executive Director for the Southeast Alaska Regional Seafood Development Association; two fishermen-run organizations working to increase the value of Alaska’s wild salmon and promote thriving fishing communities. Elizabeth also spent a decade working for the national coldwater fisheries conservation group, Trout Unlimited, where she ran the WhyWild Program and Savor Bristol Bay campaign. In addition to her professional work, Elizabeth was the Board President of Slow Food Southeast Alaska for two years, helped found the Juneau, Alaska Farmers Market and Annual Food Festival, and is on the Board of Directors of the Community Food and Agriculture Coalition in Missoula, Montana where she currently resides.
