Daisy Freund

Director, ASPCA’s Farm Animal Welfare Program

Daisy Freund is the Director of the ASPCA’s Farm Animal Welfare program, where she is setting strategy for public education, corporate outreach and legislative campaigns to improve the lives of farm animals in the U.S. In her role at the ASPCA, Daisy has focused on bringing the farm animal welfare movement to the mainstream by empowering all consumers to make animal-friendly food choices, elevating the voices of responsible farmers, and partnering with public health, environment and workers’ rights organizations to demonstrate the need for a more holistically compassionate food system. Daisy joined the ASPCA in 2012, bringing to the job a diversity of experience in food systems and communications, including livestock farming, restaurant management, public relations and journalism. She completed her Masters in Food Studies at the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Pollenzo, Italy.
