Christi Turner is founder of Scraps, a pedal-powered compost pickup service, designed to provide access to composting where it didn’t previously exist in Denver, by taking a different approach than other service providers have taken. Christi has worked in sustainability, sustainable community development, environmental communications & environmental journalism throughout her career. She spent seven years in Madagascar helping communities create appropriate solutions to the sustainability challenges they faced, followed by several years photographing, filming, writing about and otherwise sharing important environmental issues in Colorado. As an entrepreneur and CEO of Scraps, Christi leans on both of these aspects of her career, with the ultimate goal of making composting ubiquitous in Denver – and even cool. She loves her bicycle almost as much as she loves talking trash.
