Calla Rose Ostrander

Independent Consultant and Activist

Calla Rose Ostrander is an independent consultant and activist. She works with leaders in California and the Western United States to help re-balance the planet’s carbon cycle across social, political and economic sectors. Prior to her work coordinating the California Carbon Campaign she was the Climate Change Projects Manager for the City & County of San Francisco under mayors Gavin Newsom and Edwin Lee where she created and managed the San Francisco Carbon Fund, municipal agency sustainability reporting, and updated the Community Climate Action Strategy. Calla Rose was born in Tucson Arizona and lived in Oaxaca and Australia before her family settled in Colorado’s front range where she attended the Shining Mountain Waldorf School K-12 in Boulder. Before moving to California, she co-authored of the City of Aspen’s first Climate Action and Adaptation Plans and was a Communications Fellow for Rocky Mountain Institute. She attended the University of Puget Sound on a classical music scholarship and received a BA in International Political Economy.
