Brian Coppom

Executive Director, Boulder County Farmers Markets

Brian Coppom, Executive Director of the Boulder County Farmers Markets (BCFM), came to local agriculture as a refugee from a life of pursuing material success. He has applied his previous business experience to the nonprofit mission of promoting local growers and supporting the connections with their community. Three years after embracing the simple importance of local farming, Brian has experienced the unexpected, but not unpleasant, irony of being awarded CEO of the Year by Colorado Biz Magazine. BCFM has been voted #1 Market in the nation by USA Today in 2015 and received the 2014 Esprit Entrepreneurial Impact Award by the Boulder Chamber, and Small Business of the Year by Downtown Boulder in 2016. Brian currently serves on the City of Longmont Housing and Human Services Advisory Board, the Boulder Chamber Community Partnership Council, and is ac Boulder County Leadership Fellow. He has had the pleasure of representing BCFM as a TEDx Boulder speaker, and previously served as chair for the City of Longmont Board of Environmental Affairs as well as a member of the Boulder County Food System Advisory Council. Best of all, Brian’s family eats copious amounts of fresh fruits and vegetables and loves it.
