Originally from Oklahoma, Austin has been living in Denver now for twelve years. Prior to opening Bistro Georgette, Carson spent 5 years with local restaurant group Bonanno Concepts where he became the General Manager of the flagship Mizuna, and ultimately the corporate Wine Director and Bar Ambassador. Carson is a recent graduate from the Bar 5 Day program and holds Advanced and Certified Sommelier certifications from the Wine and Spirit Education Trust and the Court of Master Sommeliers respectively. Austin has enjoyed success in some of the country’s most prestigious bartending competitions, including National final appearances in the Woodford Reserve Manhattan Experience, Diageo World Class, and a second-place finish in this year’s Heaven Hill Bartender of the Year. Austin, and his partners Heather Morrison and Ty Leon, will officially open Bistro Georgette to the public inside of Avanti Food and Beverage on August 3rd.
