Angela Huffman

Director of Communications and Research, Organization for Competitive Markets

Angela Huffman is the Director of Communications and Research for the Organization for Competitive Markets (OCM), a national think tank and advocacy organization that works to ensure the marketplace is open and fair for both farmers and consumers. As part of her role, she is the organization’s lead on advocacy engagement, organizing farmers and consumers to build capacity for meaningful policy changes in support of sustainable food systems. As a beginning farmer, Angela is renewing her family’s 191-year farming tradition by becoming the sixth generation to live and farm on their Northwest Ohio homestead.

Prior to taking the position with OCM, Angela worked with White Oak Pastures as Communications and Special Projects Manager. White Oak Pastures is recognized as a national leader in regenerative agriculture and is the home of 10 species of animals raised and processed on the farm. Angela honed her advocacy skills while serving as the Market Development Coordinator for Rural Development and Outreach at The Humane Society of the United States. In that position, she led numerous institutions, retailers, and other purchasers of farm animal products to shift their purchasing toward family farms that meet the highest standards for animal welfare. Angela holds an M.A. in Public Policy and Management and a B.A. in English from the Ohio State University. Her experience also includes financial and grants management and more than 10 years in public and social service.
