When visiting the farm in 2015, newlyweds Andrew and Jessica ventured out into the pluff mud to taste some of the wild oysters growing in the creek. They were the best oysters they had ever eaten—pure yet briny, with a surprisingly sweet finish.

This sparked an idea, and the two agreed to leave behind their businesses in Atlanta for a fresh start in the Lowcountry. Pregnant with their first child, they had been searching for a lifestyle change and place to raise their family.

In January of 2016, they decided to dive into a life in sustainable aquaculture, and 2017 marked the spawn of Toogoodoo Oyster Company’s first private label oysters—Toogoodoozies!
