Honey — that liquid gold that sweetens our lives — has a depth and richness that few understand. In this guided tasting, you’ll learn how honeybees make honey; how terroir and nectar source determine the honey’s color, aroma and flavor; and how to engage your senses to pick out aromas and flavors in different varieties of honey. You’ll also learn about the Slow Food Ark of Taste, honeybees, and the essential pollination services that bring us fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and spices. This is truly a unique honey lover’s experience!
Your master honey guide will be Carla Marina Marchese, beekeeper and Italian-trained honey expert. She’ll pair Ark of Taste honeys with local cheeses from St. Kilian’s Cheese Shop and Market and breads from Moxie Bread Co, an heirloom wheat bakery.
