Slow Fish and Sustainable Aquaculture

Do you know where your fish comes from? What’s beneath the water’s surface?

Slow Fish advocates for good, clean and fair fishing practices. At this talk, you’ll learn about overfishing, ecosystem destruction, and human and animal rights within the food system. We’ll cover the growing trend of aquaculture, which unites raising fish and growing produce for more sustainable production practices. Finally, we’ll discuss the place of local, seasonal and biodiverse fisheries in artisanal food.

Join Sheila Bowman of Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch, Drew Deckman of Baja Shellfish Farms, and Toogadoo Oysterman for a talk exploring the depths of our dinner plates.
