The A to Zs of Olive Oil

What makes an olive oil extra virgin? Are you interested in learning how to properly taste and evaluate extra virgin olive oil?

Join experts Wendy Winters and Kathryn Tomajan for an interactive workshop that will take you through a guided tasting of five extraordinary California Extra Virgin Olive oils. You will be led through proper tasting techniques and explore olive varieties and flavor profiles. You’ll gain a deeper appreciation for the complexity of extra virgin olive oil, practice evaluating the quality of olive oils and become a more discerning taster. You’ll learn about olive production, purchasing and storage tips, and discuss culinary applications of California’s liquid gold—both savory and sweet. The tasting will end with a food pairing chosen to highlight how oil can elevate a dish.

Participants will receive a preview copy of the soon-to-be-released “33 Olive Oils” booklet.
